Boke Bowl is an interesting place. It’s a nice concept in the heights of the eluded perfect bowl of ramen. It has all the characteristics of Portland’s progressive food scene but doesn’t come through enough in the 4th quarter to win.
The Boke Bowl buns are solid and I couldn’t pass up the fried chicken. I ordered the duck confit ramen and the experience dropped off. The noodles were nice but not sure if it’s the duck or the broth, but the bowl was way too salty. You’ll have to just come to the conclusion you’re getting a lot of sodium. It’s a promising place, nice space and with a little tightening can do it.
